A grim-dark survival roguelite where the horrors hide in the dark
by Cold Brew Entertainment
Disfigure is a top-down survival shooter roguelite: you move with WASD, aim with the mouse and fight off hordes of grotesque creatures in runs of 20 to 30 minutes. Your sight is limited to a small circle of light, so enemies come out of the darkness, and a second vision mode switches it to a cone that reaches further.
Each level-up offers upgrades that you choose, delete or reroll, and they branch into stronger versions, so builds differ from run to run. Before a run you pick a weapon among 20 (guns, swords, saws, explosives, lasers), buy permanent power-ups with the credits earned in earlier runs and, once a boss is down, equip mutations that change the rules. Auto-fire and aim assist can be toggled.
The art is a monochrome, hand-drawn grimdark style with neon light effects, at its most striking in the boss fights. Its developer lists three handcrafted maps with 70+ enemies and 15 bosses, four difficulties, an endless mode, 300+ quests and online leaderboards. On Wavedash, Act I is free and Acts II and III are paid.
